Frequently Asked Questions

Why are your agreements Non-Exclusive?

It’s your music and you own it. You are free to shop your music anywhere, release the music on albums, use for collaborations, etc. You are also free to submit previously released songs from your catalog as long as there is no conflict with your existing label/distribution agreement. If you ever need exclusive rights to one of your songs, notify us and it will be removed from the catalog. Any existing agreements related to previous placements of the song will still be valid.

How are musicians compensated?

All compensation is 50/50 with our musicians. You work hard to create your content, and we work hard to get the word out for you. It’s a partnership where everyone benefits equally across the board. Payouts related to placements are made biannually to minimize cost. This will likely change to a much more frequent interval as we grow.

What if my music is already registered in Content ID?

Songs submitted preferably should not be registered in Youtube Content ID or any content system that would impede upon the distribution. This can cause an issue with many of the high paying placements. However, if your music is registered in Content ID, keep in mind this is something that you can "turn off" if necessary per placement you receive. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

I earn monthly revenue from my Content ID. What is the benefit of turning it off to license my song?

On average youtube monetization for 1000 youtube views ranges from 0.5 to 2 USD based on the location of viewers and the target audience. The numbers vary a lot, but most channels get 0.5 USD per 1000 views. It takes a significant amount of views to earn a substantially consistent monetary return. Essentially your music is working harder as opposed to working smarter. In comparison, our musicians are compensated at a more competitive rate for less work. Our payout for one of our most basic licenses pays at a rate that is 8.4% higher in comparison.

How do I get my music on Rhythm Couture?

We believe in quality over quantity, and as a result, we are very selective about the music we bring into the roster. However, musicians are more than welcome to submit songs for consideration. Provide 4 songs (streaming links only) to Music@RhythmCouture.com to audition. We'll get back to you within 30 days.
